Sublimation Transfers are offered in the following sizes (this measurement is of the longest side of the sublimation and are approximate):
♥ Mug/Koozie – 3″
♥ Infant – 4.5-5″
♥ Toddler – 6-7″
♥ Youth – 8-9″
♥ Adult – 8.5*11″
♥ Adult XL 11-12″
♥ Images on sublimation transfers will appear “dull or faded” until they are pressed.
♥ You MUST use a heat press on sublimation transfers. An iron will not be sufficient for the image to transfer.
♥ Sublimation transfers MUST be used on white or light color polyester items.
♥ These transfers will not print white. They do NOT contain white ink. If there is any white in the image it will become the color of the garment you are putting the design on.
♥ Recommended Polyester count is 100%. Sublimation transfers can be applied to as low as 50% polyester but will have a more “vintage/faded” look. The higher the polyester count, the bolder and brighter your transfer will look after pressing.
Recommended Application Instructions:
♥ Set temperature on heat press to 400 degrees F.
♥ Set timer to 60 seconds.
♥ Set pressure at medium.
Note: All heat presses are different and may require a time and/or pressure adjustment
♥ Use a lint roller to get loose fibers & dust off the garment.
♥ Place a sheet of butcher paper or parchment paper (not waxed paper) BETWEEN the shirt layers to prevent color transfer during pressing.
♥ Pre-press garment for 3-5 seconds to release moisture and remove wrinkles.
♥ Place transfer paper face down (image side down) on garment and tape in place with heat transfer tape.
♥ Place another piece of butcher paper or parchment paper (not waxed paper) on top of the transfer to prevent color from transferring onto your heat press plate. (Teflon sheets are not recommended)
♥ Press at 400 degrees F for 60 seconds with medium pressure
♥ Remove paper immediately and peel hot.
♥ Allow item to cool.
♥ Do not reuse the same transfer sheet as it only works one time. Do not reuse the same butcher paper with multiple transfers as the ink bleeds onto the paper and ghosting can/will occur. (Ask me how I know!)
Differences in results may occur due to heat press, substrates used and polyester count. We are not responsible for any transfers or products that are pressed incorrectly. We are not responsible for user error. The ink and paper we use has been highly tested and we currently use these same materials on finished products in our retail shop daily.
