Nutella Hazelnut Coffee Creamer

February 13, 2015 by WinterPrime

Nutella Hazelnut Coffee Creamer 4

Coffee in the morning is an imperative! There is no waking up, no moving forward and no cooking until I’ve had my coffee! I’ve been known to strike – complete with picket signs – if we are out of coffee. The hubster has to go buy some or breakfast (and the rest of the day) cannot ensue!

With that said, I also need my coffee creamer and sweetener. How the hubster can drink black coffee and survive amazes me. Black coffee is like drinking rancid mud, but I really love coffee after I’ve added creamer and some sugar. I’ve grown very fond of flavored coffee creamers and when I discovered a recipe for making my own from scratch, I was so excited — the ingredients were simple, fresh and without extra chemicals. YAY! Here’s a link for the original recipe I found.

Well, everyone knows that there’s no such thing as too much Nutella! So, when I needed to make a new batch of coffee creamer this week, I decided to give Nutella Hazelnut Coffee Creamer a try. WOW! Is it creamy and nutty and chocolatey. This one is definitely a keeper!

Nutella Hazelnut Creamer Ingredients

Get together all of your ingredients. Most everyone will have these in their fridge or pantry.

  • Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • Half & Half (or any milk you prefer)
  • Nutella
  • Hazelnut Coffee Syrup or Hazelnut Extract

I feel that Hazelnut Extract works better, but sometimes it’s hard to find. So when I’m out of extract I’ll use Coffee Syrup instead.

Coffee Creamer Heating

Because the Nutella is clumpy and thick, you’ll want to heat the mixture until the Nutella has melted and everything is smooth. Keep the temperature low and slow. You definitely don’t want to get in a hurry and scorch the milk.

Add the cooled coffee creamer to a mason jar or a rinsed and cleaned coffee creamer jug from when you were still buying it in the store. I mark what flavor it is on blue painters tape along with the date that I made it (or you can add the expiration date of the milk instead) and you are ready to go!

I always give the bottle a good shake before I pour it into my coffee. That way if it’s settled, that will mix it all up again!

Yum!
